Located at 300 S Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27401, Northern Roots Coffeehouse operates as a coffee shop serving Greensboro in North Carolina. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 amβ5 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (336) 808-5847. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is facebook.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 222 reviews, which is a strong result for a coffee shop in Greensboro and suggests consistent service.
Greensboro is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Greensboro is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I am usually not a huge fan of coffee houses but this one was SO GOOD. I got the seasonal banana pudding ice latte and as someone who's loves banana pudding I LOVED this one. I had seen a TikTok about this drink from here and went to try it immediately. It did not disappoint. The inside is super cute and I like how it's downtown. The price wasn't bad, definitely worth it for how it tasted. Service was great, the barista who made my drink was so so nice. I will definitely be coming back and recommend this to anyone who hasn't been here before!

I came to Northern Roots Cafe during a break because I needed a change of environment to get some work done, and overall it did the job. The space is really cute with a very minimalist, modern vibe. I do wish it felt a bit cozier, but if you like that clean aesthetic, it definitely works. The service was also quick and friendly I got a matcha latte, which was good. I personally wish it was a bit darker and stronger, but honestly most places in Greensboro keep matcha pretty simple, so itβs hard to go wrong. The quiche thoughβ¦ I really didnβt like it. I know some people seem to love it, so it might just be a personal preference thing, but for me it tasted kind of like napkins and it honestly soured my whole break. Not trying to be overly critical, just hoping thatβs something they could improve. That said, Iβd probably avoid the food but stick to drinks, because those seem reliable. Itβs still a nice place to sit and get work done, and I would go back for that alone. Parking isnβt great, but thatβs pretty typical for downtown Greensboro.

The staff were kind and helpful. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful when I dropped by. It was a rainy day so, great occasion to read a book and have a cappacinco and some coffee cake. A great local coffee shop in downtown Greensboro.

I got the standard vanilla iced latte, and it tasted great, which is not something I can say for every coffee house because they are all made unique, but this one actually hit the spot and tasted great. The atmosphere is full of good vibes⦠very trendy and hipster in a great downtown location. Highly recommend.

So good!! We took a day trip to Greensboro and this seemed like the best spot for good coffee & breakfast. We ordered a chai latte, cold brew W/ pumpkin cold foam, the pistachio croissant, & pumpkin quiche. It was all so good. π¨Parking is very difficult to find around here. We spent 10-15 minutes driving around for parking.
